Energize your fitness and focus
Energize your fitness and focus
Exercise is a great way to build muscles, flexibility, heart health, and fitness. But did you know it can also help spark creativity?
The simple act of moving your body, especially with repetitive activity, pushes new ideas to the forefront, opening up your imagination. Researchers have found that many forms of exercise, from an aerobics class to a quick walk outside, spur creative energy.
These active breaks in the day can help you shake off the cobwebs, returning with new thoughts and a fresh perspective to deal with the challenges at hand.
If you follow your walk with a drink of TruLabs Energy + Focus, you’ll have hours of energy and 16 nutrients to help you power through the day.
Orange Pineapple-flavored Energy + Focus supports you with the following:
- Guarana for sustained energy, heightened focus and mental clarity.
- Adenine and D-Ribose to fuel your mind and keep your thinking sharp.
- L-Arginine and L-Taurine to relieve stress and improve your mood
What is creativity?
Creativity comes in two varieties: divergent thinking and convergent thinking. Divergent thinking is when you make a link between two unrelated things. It’s when the light bulb of inspiration comes on, or, as it’s sometimes called, “thinking outside the box.”
Convergent thinking is a more thoughtful process, when you gradually focus in on the right answer, turning away from clues that don’t lead you to the correct conclusion. Exercise can help both kinds of creativity.
In just one workout session, you’ll improve blood circulation, increasing the oxygen sent to your brain. Through brain imaging and creativity testing, scientists have seen that regular aerobic activity actually increases your brain’s size, aiding memory, attention, and information processing.
Let your mind wander
Many people experience a meditative state during exercise, in which their minds wander and bring unrelated thoughts together. They use exercise to shift into a mindset where they will discover a solution, precisely because they aren’t consciously thinking about it.
We’ve all seen this when we’re trying to recall someone’s name or an elusive word. As soon as you stop concentrating on it, it pops into your head.
Happily, it’s the simpler, “mindless” exercise routines, like swimming or running on a treadmill, that induce a contemplative state. As you repeat well-worn paths, your brain stops worrying about decisions and deadlines, and lets your thoughts go free. Some scientists have suggested that walking or jogging outside, in nature, can boost creativity even further.
Once you have your inspiration, you can bring it back home — or to the office — and get to work on it. Drink a refreshing glass of Orange Pineapple Energy + Focus to support your concentration and energy, so you can see your ideas come to fruition.
