Electrolytes for Hydration Support
Electrolytes for Hydration Support
At TruLabs, we love our workouts.
The sweat, the stretch, the companionship — it’s what our TruLabs family lives for. Like many of our customers, we push ourselves to be active every day, gaining energy and stamina while building muscle mass and heart health. Even if there’s not time for a full workout, getting in your steps makes all the difference.
And we always remember to hydrate.
After a serious session in the gym, or even a family hike on a hot day, it’s essential to replace the fluids and electrolytes you lose through sweat. Electrolyte drinks like TruLabs Hydrate can help restore your fluids, and support a healthy electrolyte balance.
TruLabs Hydrate is a sugar-free drink mix sweetened with monk fruit extract and Reb M. Each serving contains 1422 mg of electrolytes and 19 vitamins and minerals, including 6 B vitamins. It has no artificial colors or sweeteners, and no dairy, gluten, soy, stevia, or sugar, and only 5 calories per serving.
Hydrate comes in Glacier, Strawberry Lemonade, Peach Mango, and our two new flavors Citrus Splash and Orange Twist. Citrus Splash is a vibrant blend of zesty lemon, crisp lime, orange and grapefruit, while Orange Twist bursts with the sweet and tangy essence of juicy oranges.
Each variety has these five electrolytes:
-
Sodium (500 mg)
-
Chloride (800 mg)
-
Potassium (83 mg)
-
Calcium (30 mg)
-
Magnesium (9 mg)
A closer look at electrolytes
Your nervous system uses electrical currents to send signals throughout your brain and body. These electrical charges are carried by minerals called electrolytes: sodium, potassium, phosphate, calcium, bicarbonate, and chloride. They transport chemical compounds in and out of cells.
Your body gets electrolytes from the foods you eat and drink. After intense exercise, work or play, especially when it’s hot, you need to replenish the electrolytes you lose through perspiration.
Some electrolyte drinks contain a lot of sugar, sugar that can actually hurt your body’s ability to absorb electrolytes. Hydrate is sugar-free.
A proper pH level in balance
Sodium is the most plentiful electrolyte in your body. It helps your cells maintain the right balance of fluid and absorb nutrients.
Your balance of acids and alkaline (base) levels are measured on a pH scale. The right PH balance keeps your system operating as it should and avoids acidosis (too much acid) and alkalosis (too much alkaline).
The electrolyte chloride counters excess acid to support a proper PH ratio.
What’s behind muscle cramps
Potassium and sodium work together. They help regulate muscle contractions and fluid balance, maintain healthy nerve and heart function, and preserve muscle mass in older adults.
When you have the right balance of sodium chloride or potassium chloride, your muscles contract and relax as they should, reducing the likelihood of muscle cramps. Potassium is also important for your heart function.
Keeping systems in sync
Calcium is known for protecting strong bones and teeth. It also helps to control your muscles, transmit nerve signals, and manage your heart rhythm.
The electrolytes phosphate and calcium work together to maintain:
-
Energy for muscle contraction
-
Blood clotting
-
A proper PH balance
Magnesium helps your cells turn nutrients into energy. It also plays a key role in the function of cells and nerves, and aids in maintaining your electrolyte balance. It also supports your brain, heart, and muscles.
Hydrate can support
You can make sure you get enough of these electrolytes by drinking Hydrate. It’s a delicious way to support the hydration your body needs.
For additional wellness support, check out these two Hydrate formulas:
-
Hydrate + Detox, Tropical Punch flavor, with 2,133 mg of electrolytes for hydration and DHM for detox support — all in a single drink.
-
Hydrate + Organic Greens, Green Apple flavor, which adds four organic greens to our Hydrate formula.
